“This puzzle was developed from a smaller puzzle, in a 2x2x3 box, the Minimal Nest, which I made for the Minimal puzzle Series by Frederic Boucher. This puzzle has a box and pieces whith shifted layers. I wondered if I could make a larger version, so I worked on a 3x3x3 shifted box. When Volker Latussek saw this puzzle, he suggested to use the Soma pieces. He send me a couple designs for the puzzle pieces, one of those sets was really nice with characteristic Latussek features,so we used these for the ‘Nested Soma’. Pelikan made the beautiful wooden version.”
